• This portal will include bids and requests for proposals for repair and reconstruction on Catholic churches and Schools in five (5) of the dioceses of Puerto Rico: the Archdiocese of San Juan, the Diocese of Ponce, the Diocese of Arecibo, the Diocese of Caguas, and the Diocese of Fajardo-Humacao
  • The portal will facilitate the visualization of the progress on the procurement process of permanent works projects.
  • These projects will use Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) funding to repair church structures that incurred damage during Hurricane Maria in 2017 and earthquakes in 2020.

As part of recovery efforts to address the damages caused by Hurricane Maria, the Catholic Church applied for and was awarded funding from FEMA’s Public Assistance program (“FEMA PA”) to help finance the restoration and protection of approximately 490 Church-owned facilities across Puerto Rico. The Archdiocese of San Juan, and the Dioceses of Arecibo, Caguas, and Fajardo-Humacao (each, a “Church Entity”) entered into separate agreements with Puerto Rico’s Central Office of Recovery, Reconstruction and Resiliency which define the terms and conditions under which each Church Entity will use the Federal Assistance awarded by FEMA in connection with FEMA Disasters EM-3384 and DR-4339.
